We are pleased to invite your participation in a marketing opportunity designed by your Chamber of Commerce. To encourage local spending, we coordinate a gift certificate program that is valid at any one of our participating members. Not only does this encourage consumers to spend their money locally, it generates local sales tax dollars. This is your chance to have your company’s name included on the list of participating businesses that accept these gift certificates.
Where Can Customers Use a Gift Certificate?
Customers using the Chamber Gift Certificate are able to redeem the Gift Certificate at any Chamber Member business. There are no limitations to the products or services that can be purchased. Customers may purchase a Gift Certificate by calling the Chamber at (419) 738-2911 or dropping by our office. Gift Certificates are available in $5, $10 and $25 denominations. There is no minimum purchase required. Expiration is one year from date of issuance.
How Does Your Business Participate?
Unlike programs by other Chambers, there is no fee to participate in the Wapakoneta Area Chamber of Commerce’s Gift Certificate Program. To participate, you must be a Chamber member. Please fill out the bottom of this page or contact the Chamber at (419) 738-2911 if your business would like to participate. Information required is your business name, address, and type (restaurant, retailer type, services).
As a business, accepting gift certificates is very simple. When a gift certificate is presented to your business, you honor it, fill out the name of your business on the back side, call the Chamber with the total amount, then send or bring the certificates into the chamber office for redemption. You may do this weekly or monthly; it’s up to you!
Your business will be reimbursed by check for the total price of the gift certificate(s) within one week. On an annual basis, the Chamber sells more than $15,000 worth of gift certificates! Your company could capture some of that business!
The program is marketed ‘year-round. The chamber administers the program as yet another valuable service to its members. If your membership expires, your business is taken off the list, and you will not be reimbursed for any gift certificates you accept after your membership expiration date.
Why Shop Local?
This program has proven to be beneficial to the community and encourages shopping locally. It allows the recipient to choose where and how they would like to use the gift certificate while keeping that money among local Chamber members. Participants include gas stations, bowling alleys, restaurants, retail stores, pharmacies, auto repair and more. It is important to shop with local area businesses who, in turn, support and donate to local events, schools, charities, community groups and nonprofit organizations.
GIFT CERTIFICATES ARE LIKE CASH. ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES MUST BE PRESENTED FOR REDEMPTION. PHOTOCOPIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
