Fly Me To The Moon 5K on the Runway

JOIN US ON JUNE 11TH AT 9:30 PM FOR A RACE LIKE NO OTHER AS WE SHUT THE AIRPORT DOWN JUST FOR YOU!  GET YOUR RUNNING SHOES ON AND FLY ALONG THE TAXIWAY AND RUNON THE AIRSTRIP WITIH THE LIT UP RUNWAY LIGHTS AT NIGHT!  ENJOY THIS UNIQUE VIEW OF THE AIRPORT FROM THE RUNWAY!  JOIN FAMILY, FRIENDS AND FELLOW AVIATION-ENTHUSIASTS AS YOU FIEW LOCAL AIRCRAFT AT KXAV ON THE FLATTEST COURSE IN THE REGION!

On display is the Longhorn Learjet 28 that Neil Armstrong flew in 1979, where he broke altitude and rate of climb records in a corporate jet!

This is the area where history was made as Neil Armstrong learned how to fly over these fields in his teenage years.

The Neil Armstrong Airport aims to celebrate the past, present and future of aviation with proceeds of the race being donated to the New Bremen Foundation.

MOON CHALLENGE SERIES

Register for the Moon Series and receive the extra MOON CHALLENGE Medal for all 3 races! This includes Fly Me To The Moon (June 11th), Run to the Moon (July 16th) and Back to the Future 1969 (August 27th)

VIRTUAL RACE OPTION:

If you cannot make any of the races for the “In-Person” events, you have the option to participate virtually for one, two or all of them and still receive the Challenge Medal.  The Moon Challenge Medal will be awarded at the 3rd race in the series.
