February 24, 2024 – Command Machines to Laser Engrave

• Uncover the secret of the manufacturing process in which pre-programmed computer software dictates the movement of factory tools and machinery. Students will use Mastercam CAM software and generate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) code while discovering how machining can control a range of complex machinery from grinders to lathes to mills and CNC routers. Most commonly used in manufacturing for machining metal and plastic parts and helps automate the fabrication process. A tour of the manufacturing lab at Rhodes State will be offered.
